I am using the same machine as yours right now. As far as I know, there
were a couple of flavors of the AV personality card, one with AV inputs
and one with audio IN/OUT (which I have). At home, I am using InterView
USB to capture video connected to a G4/450 AGP. At 640x480, I get about
27-29 fps during playback, 1.5MB/sec transfer rate. I was impressed by
that, but I am looking for something better than the USB solution,
maybe a PCI card or a DV bridge.
