I, too, have noticed that my computer takes a very long time before the little Mac icon appears. I also disabled the ram test thinking that was the culprit, but there was no change. I do not hear any hard drive noises; however, your concerns have me concerned also. I will be most interested in any suggestions people have about what is happening.
