one other thing, that frequently causes this problem, especially after a pram reset, is to make sure you're boot drive is selected in the startup drive control panel, if it isn't the machine scans the drive buses looking for a bootable drive which takes extra time. -- Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others.
