Just checking here - the most upright thing to do when selling a computer
is to wipe the OS and software off it? Okay. If you don't, to give the disks
to the new owner and buy all new software for your new machine? That's
not very practical, is it? OR for the new owner to buy licenses for all the
programs? This is what you seem to be saying. How much do licenses
cost, especially for really old software?

Just checking. It sort of doesn't seem practical, though. Not that it's
come up yet in my universe, as all machines have stayed in the family
so far.

What if you have upgraded your software several times but the original
install is on your old computer, and you want to sell that? Should the
new user call up Adobe and ask "how much does it cost for a license
to this old copy of Adobe Photoshop 3.1?"

Just wondering ... and I guess I wish there were a simpler more straight
forward way to manage these issues.
