I have a BGE DT 233 that gave the same symptoms as yours . I put a 
Radeon 32 MB Video card in it and have not missed the onboard video 
since. It has a VGA connector , DVI (a digital connector good for , 
among other items, connecting to Flat panel screens) connector, and an 
S-Video connector ( I use it with a switch for my VHS cam and recorder/ 
player. ). Both , Quicktime and Adobe love it. Add that , 768 MB RAM, 
Cable modem , and it does great on the net too.
