I strongly suggest using a firewall/router box rather than just the AirPort
pod. AirPort is just 802.11b so the SMC Barricade Wireless Version would work
just fine with all of your AirPort stuff. You can plug an AirPort pod into
the regular SMC Barricade and you'll be fine too. However, the Barricade
Wireless allows for some security measures like allowing wireless access by
Media Access Control address...that's the unique hardware address that every
Ethernet device has. This goes a long way towards avoiding the very nasty
security problems present in 802.11b. You don't want just ANYONE on your
network, now do you?

This is a good reference for home networking:
http://www.practicallynetworked.com/ .

Good luck. You're a braver person than I...until some of the very fundamental
security problems get licked with wireless networking I am avoiding it like
the plague.
