But (depending on the jurisdiction), you have to go through a process before you can evict a person. There is no reason such a process couldn't and shouldn't exist for *actively* used URLs. If an URL is in active use, there's no reason that people should be prevented from being able to speculate on it. In the real world you can't suddenly take over someone's phone number simply because they failed to pay the bill on-time. Why should that be possible for the analogous URL on the web? Here in Ontario, you have 3 months before receiving the eviction notice and its completion (if it is a legitimate eviction notice)... of course, the current govn't created a loop hole for their crony landlords in that tenants have to respond to the notice within 5 days of receipt of the notice or else they can be evicted in 10 days (which leaves the poor, the uneducated, or those who simply don't know better at the hands of unscrupulous landlords (I recently saw a landlord abuse the eviction process to get a depressed person out of the rental house they owned (if they re-rent the place they're in for a lawsuit ;))). -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
