Whatever society deems illegal becomes illegal. Extreme usury & crime are

That that can happen merely demonstrates that parts of the system are
corrupt and not working properly. If a person legitimately is not using an
URL or no longer wants it then I can understand how it could reenter the
market. Negative billing is considered an odious practice on the part of
businesses and has resulted in severe consumer backlash (to the point that
it is not widely practiced here in Canada). What Dotster did is analogous to
negative billing and the fact that they can do what it is they do merely
demonstrates that there is a loophole that needs closing, and that companies
and individuals that knowingly participate in such practices deserve to be
harmed, either through *permanent* loss of business privileges (business has
no rights) or through fines and lawsuits, and if the transgression serious
enough, a new category of law needs to be established.
