An illegal act is one thing - a morally odious act is just another aspect of
Capitalism. If Mr. Crespo wanted that site name and used SlashDot to get it,
well, that's the way the system works, right? It's like the companies that
send our business (XYZ.com) letters saying that another company is "trying
to buy the XYZ.net domain and may use it to undermine your business, so
you'd better buy the XYZ.net name yourself at our low, low price of only $79
for the first year to ensure your businesses integrity." It sucks, but you
have to be careful. Frankly, letting the domain name slip out of your hands
because you forgot to renew the name isn't very businesslike either. That
being said, the owner of MacSlash has posted on the site (which for some
reason is showing up on my computer, even after repeated refreshes) that he
has paid up and that this is a mistake. The whole thing sounds strange to
me. Are you saying Dotster was monitoring the MacSlash domain and bought it
out the day it lapsed from ownership just to resell to this Mr. Crespo?
