sounds like another microsoft misinformation campaign to me, like when they sent in the fake letters to the editor during the anti-trust law suit, which they've managed to buy their way out of sadly. i'd suggest ignoring "Keith Gregory at [EMAIL PROTECTED]" if that is a real person. i've never had to reformat under a mac os except when i static zapped a drive while it was running and corrupted it (which obviously is totally independent of the os involved), i've always been able to just run proper utilities. now windows, well, if you like constantly having to reinstall things just to prove it's not pirated (or not poorly pirated) then windows is the os for you, just remember to lock those floppies before it destroys disk 2 of the install for you, forcing you to ask for and wait forever for a replacement from microsoft. i've seen it many times, one of the most obnoxious things they've done. business customers just love the inconvenience and waiting on hold to microsoft forever, in may case we actually had to call back because they even messed up getting us the replacement, which they have the nerve to charge for when they know damn well it's a deliberate and extreme form of copy protection! bill gates is an outlaw and a scofflaw, imho.
