worse than that, when you reinstall windows it will overwrite newer versions of dll's etc. with older ones unless you are a true windows guru and can somehow find the option to tell it not to, which i understand is very well hidden. windows is all about microsoft thinking the world is a crooked as they are and trying to make it harder for pirates, which actually just makes things nearly intolerable for users honest or otherwise. many startup companies that have sold out to microsoft but tried to maintain some management over that division have left in disgust because microsoft is the very ideal of a dysfunctional company.
