<<I've been using OS X 10.1 since I bought this G4 867 in November of 2001. Not one single problem here. I've upgraded to 10.1.5 and everything is very stable and I've NEVER crashed.>>
I have had one kernel panic, when OS X 10.0 the original early-adopters version was released and ran slow as hell... but ever since 10.1 came out, now running 10.1.5, I haven't crashed either. My Mac came with OS 9.0.4 on it... 'Sawtooth dp 450 Graphite"... after upgrading to 9.1 I experienced some problems, my computer would freeze up in the middle of carrying out a task... 9.2 is now taking over for 9.1 and it hasn't crashed yet... In November, I switched to the Mac after 14 years of using PC's and the Macintosh and OS X are a God-send!>> Yeah I converted from the PC world in January of 2001 when I purchased a brand new dp 450 Power Mac G4 with a 17" Apple Studio Display (CRT). Must admit the transition was easy and painless. But I do wish my machine had a floppy disk drive, or a DVD-RAM or CD-RW instead of DVD-ROM. Also the Rage Pro 128 isn't terrible... but the Radeon 7000 Mac Edition was out when I purchased my Power Mac and now when Jaguar is released I'm gonna have to fork out some cash for an ATI Radeon 8500 and more SDRAM... only have 256 (2x 128 chips) but I am gonna fill the last 2 slots with 512 chips and then I should be flying high above the performance of my PC-using relatives, sisters, and friends.... >>I LOVE using a computer that works (all the time) and does what I want when I want without crashing! >> Yeah.
