Hi,
I need to share my frustration with you.
I have a Rev.2 Yosemite running OS X 10.1.5 and decided that I need a
bigger disk.
I got an ST340016A and tested it with the data corruption test
program without problems.
After that, I made a 2.2 GB partition for OS 9.2.2, a 5.5 GB for OSX,
a 500 MB swap partition and the rest is an extra partition.
To copy the OS9 was not a problem, but I spent the whole Sunday
trying to clone the OSX without success.
Altough Carbon Copy Cloner made a bootable OSX, it was not posible to
put to work the Classic that resides also in the OSX partition, even
copying it separately. The error message is that the MacOSROM file is
missing or damaged, replacing it doesn't solve the problem
OSX itself was also quite unstable. I am affraid, that I must perform
a fresh installation.
Now, I am working from the old disk.
I will not buy any new version of OSX before that Apple provides a
way to backup the system disk.
Rgds, Fernando
