Hello

You may have to kiss OSX good by forever

At the recent Macworld expo in NYC , I specifically asked an Apple Exhibitor
what do Apple Techs use "in the Apple lab" to clone OSX onto a backup drive.
His answer: CarbonCopy Cloner 1.1!!!!!!!!

albert

BTW. My personal story: I am back permanently with OS9.2.2.
Due to a drive corruption, I had to erase my 10.1.5.( after ~5 months of
working OK

Pulled out my old OSX installation disc ($99 full price at CompUSA back in
the Fall of 2001) to redo the installation process. After getting --cannot
write files to this disc--error messages , inspection of the CD revealed a
one inch scratch ! I have no intentions of buying a new CD, and have no
local buddy for a "loaner".

Upside: Now running a RAID setup/ a SIIG ATA 133/100 / two 40GB IBM
drives on my B&W 500/1MB / OS9.2.2 that blows OS10.1.5 speed out of the
water!

Downside: I have invested mucho $ for OSX carbonized applications (Apple
Works, Quicken, STFfaxX, ViewScan,Graphic Converter)
Upside : they are all backward compatible except for STFfaxX.

Upside: Did not loose any personal files, since I am a backup nut with an
30GB external FW drive, an external 4GB SCSI drive, an Internal ZIP drive
and burned CDs
