I have 6 MB VRAM in my G3/400 (overclocked to 466) and a Sony 17"
multiscan and I can get 1200 by whatever with millions of colors. Even
with the 2MB VRAM I previously had, the max res was 1024x768 at
thousands of colors. Check the monitors control panel and set to the
max res from there. I don't think you need a Radeon card for this
reason.
