Hyundai's 17" (16" viewable) FPMs are available at Fry's for $119 (after rebate), feature 0.25" dot pitch and 1280x1024 resolution. Or Viewsonic. Viewsonic's 19" (18" viewable) FPMs are available at Fry's for $279 (after rebate), feature 0.25" dot pitch and 1600x1200 resolution. Both are quite competitive with Fry's other special-of-the-week, a no-name 19" (18" viewable) CRT for $139 (after rebate), which features 0.25" dot pitch, 1600x1200 resolution. I have one of the above-mentioned CRTs, and it's an exceptional value. In retrospect, however, I think I would be happier, environmentally speaking, with the Hyundai or the Viewsonic. It costs a resident $7 to drop-off a dead CRT (any sized CRT ... even a Mac Plus) at my city's recycling center, yet it costs the city $27 to actually recycle those CRTs. >> Apple has its own monitor connector system. It is superior. >> Perhaps, but I'm sticking with the "Old World" Macs for now, and for the foreseeable future, and these machines all have a standard 15-pin D-Sub. -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
