I have or have had a couple dozen Macs from 1994 on. These are all doing graphics work and being used by several people. On average these non-X macs only crash once or twice a week; Always with web browsers, or if someone tries to use CorelDraw on a job. When a Mac begins to have more trouble than that there is a problem that needs to be tracked down. The DeskTop is just a folder and shouldn't cause special problems.
Roger "Im using 9.0.4. I think the crashes are memory related because I seem to get so many memory numbered error codes all the time, despite having 368 megs of RAM. I crash at least 20 times a day. I have on every mac I've ever had, actually :) it's just something I've gotten used to. Crash, run disk repair, rebuild desktop, start again. Just thought maybe I was taxing the system with so much on my Desktop. ooh, thanks for reminding me about the IE plug. I've been meaning to deal with that." -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
