Check out Proxim's Skyline PCI card - they're offering it bundled
with a PC card, too for ~$160. It purports to runs on 7.6 up. I think this is the
old Orinco product - also they list specific compatibility info relative to
the build of your ROM (from System Profiler/Production information).

As to where you aim it, let your conscience be your guide. I have a provider
in my neighborhood (hilly) but my Beige's build predates the minimum
version so I may never know how it works unless I get another beige on
e-bay (~$2-300). I'm actually tempted . . Some have 3 PC cards in them +
mucho software.
