Tester had very positive reviews of this drive though DVD-RAM is NOT supported on Toast due to the fact that Toast doesn't do DVD-RAM. Actually that was his only problem. The drive booted from OS 9 to 10.1.3 (didn't have the disks for above X.1.3) as well as burned DVD-R's successfully and played DVD's flawlessly. Tester also reported that Toast reported the drive being a Panasonic which is a Matshita/Matsushita but was being sold as a Pacific Digital DVD-R/DVD-RAM recorder.
