When starting up, you should be able to hold down the "c" key on the
keyboard and that should take you into the startup disc screen. Simply
select OS X hard drive and it should start up for you. Sometimes when
resetting the PRAM, it will throw the startup disc off and cause it to start
up from another disc or hard drive. Do you have dual hard drives on your
Mac? Is your single disc partitioned? If so, the PRAM reset is causing it
to go into OS 9. Simply restart while holding the "C" key down and that
should display the start up screen and then select OS X as your OS of
choice. Hopefully that will take care of the problem. I have the same
problem on mine, and I have two hard drives. Everytime I reset the PRAM, it
automatically goes into the the other disk. If I'm in OS X it goes to OS
9.2.2. If I'm in 9.2.2 it goes into OS X. I have no idea why, but I make a
quick correct by doing the above and it fixes it quickly until the next PRAM
reset.

Hope this helps.
