Kathi9/19/02 8:01 PM I have had this problem before. It has been awhile, but what is it is basically is that you have left something on your desktop or on your machine that belonged on a CD when you ejected it. I could wait and look up a few things and give you more details, but this is the short and quick version. Sometimes, when you load a CD, you will get two CD icons because of the way the CD was burned. Nothing wrong with that, you just have to select all of them when you eject the CD. Obviously, you ejected your CD by selecting just one of the icons, which is easy to do. Your drive still thinks it has a CD in it, that is why it retracts. You need to find the CD you ejected prematurely and load it up and then find the missing icon that belongs to the CD. With the CD in the tray, select both icons and drag them to the trash or use Apple y or your favorite method for ejecting. This should stop the tray from retracting. I'm not sure if I remember this right, but I think the missing image on the desktop may not appear until you put in the CD that is looking for its missing part. I seem to recall that when I did this, the tray came out and went back in right away. This was my signal that I left something on the desktop. You must have been very fast to get that CD out. Now you need to put the same one back in.

I click "OK" and it goes away. > -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
