On my Beige G3, if I press the eject button on the CD drive (original, IDE), the tray comes out for about 3 seconds, then retracts by itself. If I'm quick I can change a disk, but it gets close to jamming if I fumble. Is this a setting that can be changed? I'd prefer it to wait till I press the button as is, in my experience, the usual practice.
Also, possibly related, whenever I eject a CD (via trash, or "put away") I get a dialog box "The disk <name> could not be put away, because a disk error occurred." I click "OK" and it goes away. -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
