> you might want to try running MacJanitor. Hello Thanks for your reply I tried MacJanitor , but that did not fix this problem BTW. I also cannot open System Preferences from the Apple Menu in the Finder. It opens OK manually from the Utilities Folder Since both of these operations are linked to the Apple menu, It would appear I must have some corrupted files installed in the System Folder. In OS9, I know where to look and what apps to re-install, but in OSX I have no idea how you do it! Anyway, I have no intention to reinstall , since to do so , I found that I had to first remove my SCSI PCI Adaptec PD 2930U card that I use to drive my external scanner and burner. I am not in the mood to play around with this now. Also, I found that when I updated to build 6D52, I lost use of both the external SCSI scanner and Burner! Fortunately, I backed up build 6D42 on a spare hard drive. Right now, I am more concerned about my scanner and burner that the other two anomalies, but I plan to continue to play around and maybe I can work it out. thanks again for your time albert -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
