George, in answer to your question, I bought a Pacific Digital Mach 40 
(40X12X48X) CD-RW from CompUSA a while back during a sale, on the 
CHANCE it would work in my Beige. I figured it would work in my WINDOZE 
as a last resort.
Well, lo and behold, it is seen by iTunes AND Toast as a Lite-On Model 
40125S, and it has been working FLAWLESSLY in both programs!!
