I have a similar problem on my Beige G3, 400 MHz, 1 MB L2 cache, 768 MB Ram. Seems QE needs a G4 and AGP or nothing. Why ATI tries so hard with driver updates - and Apple doesn't - kudos to ATI anyways. But I must return the MacRadeon - 3 times slower than the onboard ATI Rage running Jaguar (SpeedRun data, and Norton using Classic OS is still showing a slower graphics perf.).
And if you need a revelation re: the QE, see this: http://www.pollet.net/GLterm/ It seems the UNIX geeks are way ahead of the corporate crowd and its sleazy ways - hooray! Cheers George --- "David M.
