Lexmark Optra S1650, print window sits there, stopping me working on any

It sounds like it is sending an enormous PostScript file ("Busy PS2"
suggests interpreting PostScript.) Is this for any page, or just some? A
simple text page should come out almost immediately. Is there an enormous
bitmap in the page? If so, try reducing the size of that. Note with
PostScript even if only a small part of an image is actually visible (or if
you've shrunk a large image down to small dimensions) a large amount of
data can be generated and interpreted by the printer, so if you have made
an image in PhotoShop you might try making a flattened copy and printing that.

I'm pretty sure that is a PC parallel port, not SCSI.
