I'll make a prediction:  the disk is large, and formatted hfs!
The hfs only has a limited number of names to call the chunks of the
disk and they all have to be the same size-- in your case, 151K.  HFS+
can use a much much larger number of chunks, so the disk is used more
efficiently.  

I can't see how the PrintShop problems could be caused by this, but
it's possible-- the program might require some other hfs+ enhancement,
for example.  (I doubt it, though)
