Depends. Do you have anything else hooked up to the Ethernet connection?
I have two ethernet connections, one on an PCI card and one that is original
built-in equipment. Doesn't matter which one is used on what.
One is for my cable modem and the other is for file sharing via a hub. Just
have to switch in Apple talk. Can't use both at the same time, but it sure
is easier than plugging and un-plugging. I could move things with shared
cable access via a router, but an extra PCI connection is a lot cheaper and
much more simple to set up to move files from one computer to the other.
Equipment: 233G3, 266G3, Quad, and PC. No OSX yet.
