Routers are getting very cheap now -- < $50.  If that's still too expensive 
for you, you could get a basic 5 or 8 port Ethernet hub for less than $20 
(sometimes $0 with a rebate) and have all of your computers, plus the cable 
modem all able to access the internet AND share files all at the same time.  
No AppleTalk switching required.  That would drive me nuts in no time at all.

built-in equipment. Doesn't matter which one is used on what.

One is for my cable modem and the other is for file sharing via a hub. Just

have to switch in Apple talk. Can't use both at the same time, but it sure

is easier than plugging and un-plugging. I could move things with shared

cable access via a router, but an extra PCI connection is a lot cheaper and

much more simple to set up to move files from one computer to the other.

Equipment: 233G3, 266G3, Quad, and PC. No OSX yet.
