If you went to a dedicated Mac RAM source, on-line  site like OWC or 
MacGurus for your RAM purchase ,you would not have any problem; just 
plug 'n play, like me.
Bought my 128 & 256s from both sources, above w/o any problems, now out 
to the full 1024MB
