I wonder what difference it makes if you're going to replace it. You dont
have to use the same kind. 98% chance it's an IDE anyway. If you open the
case, slide back the 2 beige latches and flip out the inner "tray" (have to
unplug the power cord 1st), you can see the ports where the SCSI and IDE
cables plug in to the motherboard in the back right corner. Follow your
cable from your Hqrd drive and see which it goes to. The internal SCSI port
is in back next to the back wall of the case and the external SCSI port. The
IDE port is just on the inside of that, more towards the center of the box.
Also another way to distinguish is that IDE ribbon cables are narrower
than SCSI cables.
You should get an IDE drive regardless of what's in there because they
cost less and there's no reason to get the SCSI. You can buy a cable for
about $8 if you need one.

While youre upgrading, think about going to a faster processor (though
not really necessary, it would help for the video editing). You could get a
400 for about $80. Faster than a 400 G3 they get pricey, maybe $140? for a
500 G3. [You could sell your 300mhz processor ZIF (about $40) and your 8GB
drive (about $30) for almost enough to cover the cost of a 400 chip (eBay)].
The ZIF processor chips for these machines are very easy to change out. Mine
came w/ a 266 and I have a 400 in it now, overclocked to 433.

Make sure to get a firewire PCI card to use with your camera if you dont
have one- that's generally what's needed and didnt come in these machines.
They're about $15-$20. You can get a CD copy of iMovie pretty cheap on eBay
too.
   Good luck- NickUtah
