In my reading of different newsgroups and email lists I have come across
some information that I feel I have confirmed from a little research on the
Apple site.

If you go to this link
http://kbase.info.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/kbase.woa/wa/query?val=g3+kbd
load&x=5&y=14&type=smartSearch&nodes=&dateModified=&geography=
And look at the top downloads you will see most of those are Mac OS 9
downloads and articles where the only, well I think only, Mac OS X download
or article is about Mac OS X version 10.1.

I read in an article that Apple predicts that 20% of its user base has X
installed on their Macs. They also state that 10% of those use Mac OS X as
their main OS but that does not mean they do not use Classic for apps not
upgraded to X or not written for as is the story of Quark.

I gather there are about 4000 applications that are now running under X.
But at 10% of a user base it makes you wonder how active X really is as the
new operating system for Mac.

Just some thoughts on my mind at 3:42:35 in the morning. Got to love the X
clock.
