This year I purchased an OWC Firewire PCI card and installed it into my Beige G3. I used it successfully with OS 9 for several months. Recently I switched to OS X and now I can't get any Firewire devices to show up.
I've tried two different Firewire hard drives, one that has the Oxford 911 chipset. Neither will mount on the desktop. I've also got a Yamaha Firewire CD-RW drive that Toast can't seem to find. I checked Apple System Profiler and it shows the Firewire card but no devices attached to it. Tonight I switched the PCI slot and that made no difference. I'll probably give OWC a call tomorrow but I thought I'd bounce it off the experts here first. Anybody seen anything like this? Is there a secret that I don't know about? Do I need to install drivers? Any and all advice and suggestions welcome! -Mick -- -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
