Hi All, Still trying to get my Blue and white G3 to be not flaky, I upgraded the CPU to an OWC G3 400 Mhz with the 1 MB cache, it has 896 MB of PC 100 RAM, and the original hdd and CDROM, both of which "suck". I will be getting a DVD drive from work, hopefully it will work in this mac, it came out of a PC. I have a IBM deskstar 30 Gig ata 100 7200 RPM HDD I want to put into this machine, but even with OS9 on the original HDD its so flaky, it just freezes up like PCs do ;-)
I want a ATA 100 controller card for the PCI bus sooooooooo badly, I cant afford much and I cant find ANY on ebay. Does anyone have one they want to sell? would this end my freeze problems? I've tried OS 8.6, 9.2, and 10.2 but all are flaky, and I've tried different RAM as well and still flaky.
