I don't have a lacie but a Lite-on and it could be one
piece but I was puzzled at first by it's front plate
being removable. There should be the very front cover
and then a smaller looking cover which is attached to
the tray and is the same size as tray. There is a
black type molding separating the two. When you look
underneath, see if you can take a very thin small
screwdriver and pry it apart just slightly in the
middle and you separate it from it's tabs which
roughly divides into thirds.  You don't have to use
any force that would break anything. Just see if will
separate a little. Once the tabs are separated, you
pull upwards on the front cover as it slides on groves
on the side.
