Hi

I understand that I need a DVD burner to make a DVD movie. I was wondering, I do have
a CDRW drive, it is possible to make one of these babies make DVDs just by using
certain software/s? (I don't see why not) I do have a lot of home movies in my Mac
that I want to turn into DVDs. And of course if all else fails I'll get a DVD burner
soon.

Of course I know I can make a movie in MPEG or MOV format then burn it into any CDR
(with the difference that video takes twice as much) make it ISO 9660 format so that
it can play on my new TV DVD player, but how do I turn VHS videos into computer movies
to be burned in a CD? My VCR broke and I want to see if I can do that and how I can
save the most space without sacrificing quality. As of the VCR, I may have to borrow
one soon. I do want to convert completely to DVDs (use VHS only when I must).

What are the posibilities? I do have my G3 333 and my old trusty 8500/150 where I may
be doing the video capturing (which I will immediately edit/merge into the G3). And
last, what program is best? Quicktime offers such limited video formats/compression I
think (a 5 minute video can only be compressed to between 35-40MB before the quality
REALLY suffers).

Thanks
Lil
