Hi Tina,
I have a B&W G3 400MHz (rev 1) and I added 2 -40 GB IBM drives.  I 
don't think the iMac can be expanded with extra internal hard drives. 
So if adding extra internal drives to an iMac isn't important, then 
that may be the way to go. You'll have the extra speed of the iMac and 
you could always add an external FireWire drive to your iMac in the 
future. Good luck.
