G'day from Oz Tina

There's been reports that Apple might soon upgrade their lineup to a
basic 15" and three 17" iMacs. Mind you, the same people thought Apple
would release new iMacs at the last Expo.

One plant in Taiwan has stopped producing 15" screens for Apple, and
sales have slowed on 15" models. There's a backlog of screens,
apparently. Possibly though, Apple are switching manufacturers.

Prices of 17" screens have dropped overall, even though there was a 5%
increase recently on Taiwan screens.

There's also supposed to be a 1.4 Gig hz copper chip coming from IBM,
but people are vague on when (G5?). I think a while yet for that one.

You might want to wait just a little while, but others in this forum
will know more about what's likely to come on the scene soon.

If prices suddenly are discounted, be sure somethings on the way. It's
hard to evaluate just when to buy though.

Already having a 17" monitor myself, I personally chose to wait a
while, until 19" screens and faster processors come out. The screens
just might be released in 3-4 months by a third party manufacturer, who
is thought to be wanting to buy 15" models and re-screen them.

Confused? That's Apple for ya! They play their cards close to their
chest.

Regards

Santa
