hi all! I have been a bit out of the loop for the past few months -- I've
got a mailing list backlog like you wouldn't believe! that in mind, forgive
me if this has come up.
I recently inherited a G4 at work and it has some very odd things going
on that I would like to do away with. I'm going to do a complete reformat of
all three HDD and simplify things a bit as the system seems far too slow. my
question is, I need to set up scratch space (primarily for PhotoShop) and
I'm not sure if I should partition this space. I never thought there would
be any benefit to having multiple scratch disks, but this machine was set up
with one 10k drive partitioned to make two scratch disks. is there any
benefit to having two smaller scratch disks rather than one large one -- of
course I'm talking about Mac OS extended format, not standard.
