I have run all three possibilities on various machines including both my B&WG3s (Rev.2). For simple backup, I'd go for the LaCie USB drive which is probably the cheapest way short term, and it is bootable. THe B&W cannot boot off Firewire. If you have any older SCSI drive laying around, you can pick up a used external case with powersupply for next to nothing and stick it in there. PC dealers have swapable drive housings which can be modified to fit such cases, too. I have done this, giving me a hot swapable external SCSI drive. Like I said, If you already have the drive and are the DIY type, this is the cheapest way to go, and it is both dependable and bootable. b http://www.william-jurgenson.com Hi All, > I'm looking to get some external HD storage for my B&W G3/350 (OS 8.6, > 448MB, 60 GB HD, Rev.2) -- I've thought about going SCSI due to its > stability but realize the cost is higher.
