I set up a new G4 last week running OSX and OS 9.2. Soon
after I set it up I got a notification of an update to OS 10.2.3 so I
ran it. I didn't notice until today that when I am booted to OS
9.2.2 the Mac operating system is using 575 MB RAM.

        My other G4  came with OS 10.1,  I didn't like 10.1  so I
took it off and am just running OS 9.2. The two computers, when
booted to OS 9.2, are using to run the Mac OS, respectively;

        New G4.......575  MB
        Old G4.........   57 MB

        Please tell me the newest OSX is not going to suck up over
half a gig of RAM just for the operating system??
