Thanks to several of you I am making progress in the setup of 2 G3 B&Ws. My wife's is a 350 and mine a 450. Now successfully running X 2.4 on them and trying to network them with a crossover cable and want to be able to share dial up internet connection. I have been able to make all of it work but not consistently. When it does connect, share disks, and share internet--I don't know why and when I try it again--it likely won't work.
Obviously I am a novice at the networking aspects of OSX. I have 2 books (Pogue's Missing Manual and Todd Stauffer's OS X) which make it sound simple, but I find it not so. My question is do any of you know of any internet sources to help me learn this process and/or better books which are helpful on the subject. As far as I can tell, my system is working OK. I am really learning to like X (if I ever figure it out)--no crashes or freezes in several weeks working with it. John in Tucson -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
