that's not a copy-right scheme, that's an anti trust violation and they know it,
unfortunately as microsoft has proved you can pretty much get away with breaking the
law if you are a major (or even small) company so long as a larger company doesn't
want to waste money on lawyers (most high tech law suits seem to end with an agreement
that nobody did anything wrong and they won't do anything wrong in the future, works
out great for the lawyers but it's bad news for patent holders and others, the legal
system is run by people who understand "the law", not people who understand technology
or what a "reasonable person" would think, though they often claim the later in their
arguments). apple sadly has a long history of pulling proprietary garbage, it hurts
users and frankly hurts apple in the long run, but management seems to think long term
is later in the year, not years from now when it really starts to have a negative
effect. as an analyst on cnn put it, "apple has a long history of having the best
product and the worst management", i have to agree for the most part, and it's
management not the actual tech people who want this proprietary b.s. are you
listening apple?
