I believe that the problem is the Video Chip
on your G3 Minitower (& mine also).
I think that the drivers for the Video Chip are
Not present in Jaguar.
I think that such drivers were present
in earlier versions of OS X.

Someone will know for sure.

(How much video RAM do you have?)
