> Hi All. I'm having a problem with my daughter's iMac (Rev A, 233 mHz). > It works fine in every regard except it won't shut down or restart. > When I invoke the shut down or restart commands (from either the > Special menu or using the KB power button) it goes to a blue-gray > screen and just stays there. I can then shut it down with the power > button on the CPU. When it restarts it's fine and does not run Disk > First Aid automatically as if it was shut down improperly. Also, > anything set to run at shut down (such as Norton's directory updater) > runs fine before the blue gray screen. Try removing all Norton Products from your iMac and see if it still happens. Norton is the root of A TON of Mac problems. Another thing to look for is a faulty USB device. Is there anything else plugged into that machine? Kyle H.
