Pore over the reports at <http://www.xlr8yourmac.com> for the best 
guide. There isn't, afaik, a definitive listing anywhere. I know for a 
fact that the LITE-ON LTR-40125W mechanism in mine, (48-12-48) is 
bootable. (because I've done so)

I suspect, but do not know for certain, that the drive mechanisms 
compatible for CD burning are also bootable.
