I dug through the support forums on Apple's site and found a thread where people were experiencing the same problem. Apparently there are some torn/worn wires inside the hinge in these people's cases. The good news is that it was an easy fix from Apple. The bad news is it cost $379 and nobody could find the parts to do it themselves. I called Apple myself and they quoted me the $379 for repair but wouldn't even tell me if that's what the problem is without charging mr $49. :-P Which I was not going to pay. If I can find the part and save myself that wad of cash, I'd love to do it myself. Any ideas on locating the part? (Btw, I did try resetting the power manager - didn't help.) Also - I know this should be on G-Books. I thought I was subscribing to G-Books but I must have hit the wrong one. What can I say, I just had surgery a few days ago and maybe the effects of the aneshesia are still with me. ;-) Thanks again Amber -- Amber L.
