I upgraded to a Sonnet ZIF/G4 500 three days ago and I've already had
three kernal panics. The Sonnet folks have been responsive, but seem to
think that's it's unrelated to their card and just part of the OS X
experience. I've been running Jag since it was released and I haven't
had a single kernal panic until the upgrade. I've made sure that I
don't have a Royal Technology VRM (which causes problems with the
Sonnet cards) and the processor card is clean and installed correctly.
Any ideas as to why this is happening now? I hate feeling like I'm
using Win98!

FWIW, there seem to be more issues with Sonnet's ZIF upgrades than other vendors. While some have had excellent success, if you look on the various G lists, unsupported lists, the XpOSFacto tech forum etc., there's a lot more issues with Sonnet's cards. Have no idea why? They are a responsible company. I know a bunch of people who have used their Harmoni upgrades for iMac's and are very happy campers.

You may want to press the support folks for another card and see if the problem goes away? There are numerous posts in the list archives of folks who had their problems solved after the second or third card.
