1. Sure can we do it all the time in our recording studio (sawtooth G4 400 with the OEM DVD RAM). 2. Nope. Its only a DVD-RAM. It will read cds but wont write em. 3. Just them Pioneers man. Unless you can score a firewire Combo Drive (like the internal one in my Powerbook). And also, any external DVD drive will not work with iDVD. It only works with an OEM internal Apple Superdrive (Im rather pissed about this myself, if I want to author a DVD i have to spend another $1000 for DVD Studio Pro on top of the almost $500 I paid for my Lacie Superdrive a year ago).
