Sounds like a desktop problem to me. A few things to try: 1. Use TechTool Lite to completely eliminate the old desktop file and force a rebuild. <http://www.micromat.com/downloads/downloads.html#Anchor-TechTool-35882> 2. If that fails, reboot with extensions off (hold shift key down during startup) and try TechTool Lite again. 3. If that fails, boot from another drive -- Disk Tools floppy, System CD, or anything else you may have -- and again use TechTool Lite to force a rebuild of the desktop. 4. If all that fails, ante up for a copy of DiskWarrior. I have never run into a desktop problem that DiskWarrior couldn't solve -- and the new version even supports OS X. <http://www.alsoft.com/DiskWarrior/index.html> Hope this helps. -- Dan Knight, president, Cobweb Publishing, Inc. <http://cobwebpublishing.com> <http://lowendmac.com> <http://digital-views.com> <http://digigraphica.com> <http://lowendpc.com> <http://reformed.net> Computers are like air conditioners; they don't work when you open windows. -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
